Farm Frenzy 3 Review
Where in the world is Farm Frenzy taking us now in this third of a series of fun time management games? You’ll be traveling to 5 exotic locations around the world from Africa to the arctic South Pole. Each site will have its own indigenous creatures. You will have to take care of the animals, prepare goods and raise money for your farm to prosper.
Scarlet receives a letter from her good friend Morris who needs help with his farm in Africa. Upon arriving Scarlet finds embezzling within the local farmers’ union. Scarlet and Morris are not so easily foiled and they both get to work to make the best running farm in the area.
You begin by watering plots of land so grass can grow, and the guinea birds find food and lay their eggs. You click on the eggs to put in the warehouse. When ready, you click on the scooter to transport your eggs to market. You’ll receive money for your goods and after waiting for your scooter to return, you can start all over again. Eggs are fine but you can get more if you process your eggs into powder. That means you need to purchase a machine to do this. Thus begins your journey into the farming business. You must put up buildings, upgrade them, cage wild animals like lions from destroying your birds and bake products from your powdered eggs. There’s enough to do while at the same time making money, getting achievements, trophies and stars. The stars are needed for new animals and upgrading buildings.
Not only do you collect these awards, you must meet your level goals such as getting so many guinea birds, sell so many eggs and capture the wild life dropped on your land. Certain items can be bought in the shop but others will have to be produced by using your bought machinery and building structures. This is when the “frenzy” comes in with you doing as much as possible as fast as possible. Speed is another factor so you can earn your trophies and stars.
The gameplay is similar to their other games but adds a few items to make this one as addictive and fun as ever. The 3D animals are great fun to watch and capture by
clicking on them over and over until a cage surrounds them. The 5 locations around the world will bring about new animals and activities to perform. The game is repetitive, but isn’t that what makes a good time management play? If you are new to the genre, choosing any one of the Farm Frenzy franchise will give you the pleasure and fun these types of games produce. Try Farm Frenzy 3 and play a fanatic game full of things to do with colorful graphics, 3D animals and good upbeat, rhythmic music. I give it a 3.5 out of 5 for a entertaining, solid game.
Features of Farm Frenzy 3:
-5 Different Locations Around the World
-95 Frenetic Levels
-Help the Farmers of the World

Busy Bea’s Halftime Hustle Review
With a title like Busy Bea’s Halftime Hustle you know you are in for a sports related sim time management game full of activities and things to do quickly. The game starts off with the story about a small town in trouble with their football teams, from little league on up to the big time arenas. They lose all their games and their stadiums are in ruins.
Blunderton is a small town with a lot of bad luck and their sports arenas and little league playing fields have known better days. The fields are in rundown and ticket sales are just plain down. The town has heard about Beatrice or Busy Bea and her wonderful ways of turning things around. So they decide to ask Bea to come to Blunderton to help them. In an interesting twist to this game, you do not play as Bea but she will help you. Bea is delayed and you must start working on the football fields on your own. She’ll catch up with you later and lend you a hand.
The sports attendees will walk down the left aisle, you click on the people and drag them to where they want to go like the ice cream stand, French fries booth, bathroom or their seats. Once in place you wait a few seconds until they are ready to leave their spots and go to another location. They may want to leave the
arena so you will see the turnstile displayed. By matching the color of the person to the color of the location will get you more points. Another combo is the swap where one person will want to go to another location and another person at that location wants to go to the first person’s site. There are different levels of patient people like the old lady takes a long time to decide what she wants, but is more patient, but Hungry Harry is less patient and will lose his hearts faster. The hearts will tell you the person is losing patience.
Once Bea arrives on the scene, she is very helpful. She will repair broken equipment, help cook up treats and entertain the customers. When you have Bea entertain your attendees, they will double their patience. You need the money to purchase new stations, equipment, hire employees and more to help you play this game. At halftime you do the halftime hustle where everyone is more impatient and you must work fast to complete your tasks.
As you go up in the levels, you will get more storyline in a cartoon comic format. Soon a mysterious person X starts donating money to your fund and tells you that Mayor McGreety doesn’t want Bea around for some mysterious reason. Watch out for him! He can’t be trusted and will want to block your progress.
The game is a fun and fairly easy play in the normal mode so you’ll have to decide for yourself whether to play the Rookie (easy) or all the way to Veteran (hard). There are football announcements and applause made throughout the game and the music is a familiar sports related tune. It’s not as frenzied as other games but it will get more challenging in higher levels. I could have done without the sound effects when people went to the bathroom. Try it out and see.
Features of Busy Bea’s Halftime Hustle:
-50 Levels of Sim Play
-Upgrades and Gold Coins
-5 Unlockable Bonus Games

Garden Dash Review
Spring is here and gardening is in sight when the weather starts to get warmer. Going outside and working on your yard will not only give you much needed exercise but it will relax you for better health. Garden Dash is so full of activities to do in the garden it may not put you in a serene mood. You will be “dashing” around taking care of your garden but that’s what sim time management players are looking for and will find it in this fun and full of actions game.
The game will take you back to the familiar Diner Town where Flo works in a diner, and once again she is offering advice on what to do with your life. In this case, it is Barb a hardworking corporate pencil (or is it a mouse today?) pusher who multitasks everything at work. She does this so much she is burned out and Mr. Big demands she take a break and go on vacation. Doesn’t sound like the Mr. Big we have come to know and hate. Flo tells Barb that gardening is relaxing and Barb takes it from there in her own type A style. She lives in an apartment and the only gardening space she has is the roof. She begins a roof business selling produce to her customers.
This sim time management Dash game is a little different from the usual drag her customers to their table feature. The customers in Garden Dash will march in and you’ll see what they want. The level is completed when you finish filling orders within the time period. In this game you must cater to your plants with the usual hearts to maintain and keep happy. You start off by putting the soil in a pot, wait, choose the type of seed you will need from vegetables, fruits and flowers, water, wait, prune, and harvest the plants. After harvesting your crop, you have Barb take it to the large basket on the
right of the screen. It will automatically deliver it to your client and collect the money. Yay, 2 small steps you do not have to deal with. However, after harvesting you will see a green leaf and you must click on it to collect. This relax token will be added on the meter at the lower left and when filled, you can click on it to give Barb a relaxing rest, stopping the timer and giving your plants their hearts back. Om……..
Okay, back to work. This rest doesn’t last long so get moving and make sure you match the color of the pot to the color of your plant (tomatoes are red, grapes green, etc.) and doing this in succession will give you time on the clock. Very important because the timer is always ticking away and is your worst enemy in this game. Chain your duties as much as you can to get more points increasing the multiplier as you go.
Rain will help you water your plants and you will not have to do it. Other helps are the upgrades you can buy in the shop. You can put automatic watering, harvesting, bigger pots, faster shoes, and more. Unfortunately, you can only upgrade a pot one time. Some of the upgrades do not help you that much but others will be a lifesaver.
Lots of things to do and many activities are reminiscent of the Dash game, but others are different. This difference makes the game a welcome fresh change to serving food to grumpy, impatient customers. There are no mini games but you really do not miss them. The artwork of the characters and backgrounds are the familiar faces and places, and that’s a good thing. The music is also familiar but not annoying but I need to lower the volume so I can concentrate on my game. I think most Diner Dash fans will enjoy this game, but I also think garden sim players will also love this one. Try the demo and see for yourself. I give it a 3.5 out of 5 for a fun sim time management game.
Features of Garden Dash:
-50 Levels of Challenging Fun
-5 Different Locations
-Upgrades and Relax Tokens

Youda Fairy Review
Even 1000 year old forest wizards need a break now and then. This is the case in Mac arcade game Youda Fairy where the wizard protecting the people in the village is ready for a vacation of sorts. You are to train as his assistant learning to cast spells, create fairies and such to
ward off the evil witch and her henchmen.
The main play is situated in a marshy, wet pond where you need to catch fireflies to make fairies. Never knew that’s the way you create fairies. You click on the lily pad with the same color flower as the fireflies and click on the bug to catch them. The flower will shoot out and gobble up the firefly. Stay away from the spikey firefly or it will decommission your lily flower for a while. So you have a blue lily flower on a pad and that flower will catch only blue fireflies. Pretty straightforward, right? Well, as in all time management type of game, it gets crazy or at least, frustrating in higher levels. Different colors will start popping up in later levels and you have to alternate colors to catch your insects. After the pad has its fill, you click on the pad to release the like color fairy. You click on the fairy and drag her to the like color lantern down at the bottom of the screen. Make sure you click on the gecko and frogs to shoo them away. The frog will incapacitate your flower and the gecko will eat your fireflies. There are more natural barriers as you go higher in the levels. Fortunately, you have helps like the sneeze spell to create more fireflies, spiders when dragged will collect all the same color fireflies in one scoop and a shield for your lily pad to ward off the pests.
Once you meet your goals (# of fairies in each color), you go to village to protect the town’s people from the destructive witch. The villagers
will let you know when they need a fairy of a certain color to help them. Each time a heart of the fairy color pops up above a home, you need to click on the lantern with the same color fairies and then click again on the home before the hearts disappear. In addition to being fast on your feet, you have to deal with the nasty bad guys (witches, goblins and trolls). This part of the game reminded me of the Mac sim time management game Sushi to Go Express.
Although the game sounds easy, it is not; especially when you get up in the higher levels. I found it frustrating when you did not have a sneeze spell to create more fireflies to meet your goals. I found sometimes I was waiting around for the bugs. The pests though distracting helped move the play along. Another distraction to the main play is the building of the village with your earned points you can buy a cottage, bridge and many more sections after unlocking the upgrades.
As always, Youda developed a beautifully drawn game with deep, rich colors, but the play, although original, missed the mark for me. I would rather play Peggle without much of a story line than catch fireflies. I guess I was expecting more action than time management play. It wasn’t for me but you may enjoy this type of game. I give it a 3.0 for great artwork and originality.
Features of Youda Fairy:
-Original Play
-Help the Villagers
-Create Fairies
-Challenging Levels

The Fifth Gate Review
The Mac game The Fifth Gate is a nice mix of strategy and sim time management play. It is a fast-paced game that will challenge your dexterity and mind.
An evil nymph, Morgana, trapped Eden in a garden, and in order to escape this prison, Eden must work and tend to 5 mystical gardens before the fifth gate is unlocked. Eden’s freedom depends on how well she can grow flowers, kill unwanted pests, harvest the flowers and create potions. Her successful outcomes will ensure her freedom.
The play is very similar to other sim time management garden games like Plantasia and Garden of Dreams. You tend to your flowerbeds by clicking on it to grow different seeds. The different flowers will bloom, click on it and move it to the storage bin. The storage bin can only hold so many blossoms so you have to figure out what to do with all your precious flowers. In addition to growing your flowers you must fight off the bugs and pests by clicking on them repeatedly. Some of the pests are poisonous or magical and your cursor will freeze. Also your plants will need water so you must click on the plant to water it.
You must keep your eye on the lower right side of the screen to check on the water level. If you need more water, you must buy it. Morgana is not going to make life easy for you. You must purchase your helps and upgrades to make your play a little easier.
Another part of the play is to use the blossom for magical potions. You need certain flowers for different potions that Morgana will
demand. You can also sell blossoms and potions for more cash and some potions will bring in more money than others. Also remember you can get more money for potions than blossoms.
There’s not much to the story in The Fifth Gate, but the sim time management play is enjoyable. You get more and more flowers and more tasks in the later levels. The different pests and the other hazards will challenge your play in each garden. There’s a lot to do in the 5 different gardens with a variety of blossoms in each place. Also each garden has 14 tasks each to complete before poor Eden can escape from Morgana. Have fun beating the bees and beetles while growing beautiful flowers.
Features of The Fifth Gate:
-5 Different Gardens
-Fight Pests and Bugs
-Grow Beautiful Blossoms
