Get ready to have a blast in this fun shooter game. Travel through amazing and varied environments and break all the bricks in each fascinating world.
With fast and upbeat music you can play in Easy, Normal, Hard or Insane Mode making this game fun and enjoyable for everyone. You have a spaceship with a paddle surface at the bottom at the bottom to bounce the ball back up to the targets, blocks and rings. Your goal is to clear all the bricks and collect the golden ring.
When you get 35 rings, you will get another ion sphere or life. The stats are listed to the right of the screen giving you the time, score, speed, ion spheres, number of rings and total. There are many different background environments taking you to mysterious locations like the sunken city, Mayan temple and volcanic crust. Alien invaders will move toward you in their own eerie way. There will be many obstacles you will have to figure out how to get around to beat the level. In addition there are a lot of bonuses and power ups with some new items. Not all the goodies floating down will be to your benefit so be careful not to collect everything. Once all the bricks are destroyed, you move on to the next level. You may want to retrieve the gold rings before moving on.
Ricochet Lost Worlds is the sequel to the popular Ricochet Xtreme. The sequel is updated with many new features and the same familiar things to make your arcade game more fun. A Level Editor will allow you to design your own level for even more excitement. Bombs falling, acid balls and more make this fast paced breakout game addictive and awesome. I give it a 4 out of 5. Kaijin Review
While watching the Boston College Eagles win their first football game of the season, it reminded me that I need to write a review for Phelios’ action packed arcade game Kaijin. There are 3 modes to play: Way of the Eagle (see the connection?), Way of the Tiger (not that Tiger) and Way of the Dragon. Kaijin is a homage to Galaga where aliens are not in short demand as they come at you in rapid succession.
The year is 2546 on Planet Terria. The Terrians survived on their own wits growing their own foods not genetically modified. All others destroyed their central neuron system by eating bad flesh. These beings went to a dark place and turned into mutant insects. These demented beings are planning to take over Terria. Your job as the best Terrian fighter pilot must battle these evil forms and save the good people of Terria and their pure and happy way of life. Kaijin is your trusted ship. The Japanese connection is another salute to the Galaga link.
The way of the Eagle will allow your ship to go to every part of the screen. You are not limited to the bottom. The Way of Tiger is the classic play a la Galaga where the ship is at the bottom of the screen moving from back and forth. The way of the Dragon is full on action with 3 levels of craziness. Tiger and Dragon are locked for the demo version. It's like getting 3 games in one.
The enemy will come at your ship in wave patterns, and not only must you destroy them, you must be sure to get rid of the eggs laid by some of these creatures because if you do not, they will burst into more aliens. In addition, there are bosses that you need to contend with and you know how hard it is to annihilate them.
At the bottom of the screen you will see the shield guards. Every time you get hit by an alien, the gage will decrease, but every time you hit an enemy, it will increase. The more energy you get, the more firepower is available to you. There are bombs, shield recharges, extra points
and more bonuses. Your weapons are based in the shield level and can include lasers, blasters, fireballs and more.
Just like in football, you are attacking and moving forward except in Kaijin it’s not that easy. There are so many aliens flying up and down, in circles, exploding into more mutants and never stopping. When you think you can catch your breath, more enemies come swooping down. Kaijin is an intense, solid arcade shooting Mac game for experienced gamers and gamers who are willing to practice and play until they are experienced. The scenery and is simple but you do not want to be distracted with background art when you are fighting these evil monsters. I was too busy to notice the sound effects, but I am sure it was fine because the whole experience was great. I give Kaijin a 4 out of 5 for an awesome Shump (shoot em up) play.
Features of Kaijin:
-20 Types of Mutants
-4 Worlds
-3 Modes
-146 Levels

Star Defender 3 Review

The evolution of a space invade arcade game changes very little so why do they continue to make these plays? Because they are fun and you can see the improvements between the old arcade games and the present day video games. Look at Galaga and see the improvement and details in Warblade. Yes, the basic play is the same, the fun is the same but wait until you see the graphics, details and the sheer numbers of enemy aliens in Mac game Star Defender 3.
You are a rookie pilot sent to the outermost section of the galaxy known as Kenuriam. Everyone knows nothing good comes from that system. You are wary but take on this assignment for the good of planet Earth and mankind. You fight hard and furious against the
invading alien Insectus race with your lone ship. They come at you in different waves of every formation known in outer space. Some move horizontally and vertically, while others will loop, stall, swoop and circle around the dark, starry sky in ominous patterns. They’ve also sent their biggest and baddest bosses to wipe you and earth out of the universe and beyond. Luckily there are power-ups galore and the weapons of mass destruction are available to you if
you can catch them. They are missiles, mines, nuc bombs, 500 points, time and more to help aid you in your quest.
The game board is an overhead view of your space ship at the bottom of the screen. The never ending, spiraling enemy attackers will try to overcome your single ship and gain access to Earth. Be sure to post your highest score on the worldwide Hall of Fame.
Star Defender 3 may be similar to the old time arcade shooting games but with its fantastic graphics and more power-ups than you can imagine, the play is still intense, frantic, frenetic and just plain addictive. The only thing that will slow down your play is the hand cramps you get from shooting an infinite amount of alien devils.
Features of Star Defender 3:
-8 Huge Missions
-Progressive System of Bonuses
-Aliens to Blast

Planet Stronghold Review
Winter Wolves has developed another exciting fantasy sci-fi visual novel with a role-playing, turn based combat system. The story is original and the battles are high charged. There’s a balance of mystery, romance and fighting to keep everyone on their toes. Every detail is revealed in their statistics and conversations.
You take on the role of a young attractive new recruit. You have a choice to make right away with the gender (either Lisa or Joshua Nelson). There are 4 character classes to choose from: Soldier, Guardian, Scout, and Psionic. If you played any rpgs, you know each characteristic can dramatically change the outcome of the story. In addition there are 3 modes of difficulties. If you are new to this type of game or a casual gamer, start with the Easy and work yourself up to Medium and Hard. You can change your modes any time in the preference screen. The game will guide you through the main moves and descriptions as you go along. Also your android will go over things with you. Conversations can be as quickly paced as you want, and you can review any text by paging down, up or using the mouse wheel. Quests are added throughout the game and can be viewed anytime with the middle icon pictured to the lower right of the screen.
Before each battle you will get an enemy screen where you can view the type of alien and their strengths and weaknesses. The battles are between you and up to 4 other people against the enemy. The turn based combat has you initiating the first move. The battle screen will display in the center the enemy and their stats at
the top of the screen, and you and your team’s data at the bottom. When it is your turn to attack, your screen will be highlighted in orange with 6 options to use. All are different in the effectiveness of each weapon. If you should win then the experience points are divided among your people. There are many different types of weapons and armors but also there are other non-combat skills you can use like mind influence, explosives, science and sneak.
The other play in this game is your relationships with the other people. I chose Lisa as my hero and she has Michelle Lafleur as a roommate. Michelle is a little touchy and your relationship gauge will pop up and lower whenever she is upset with you. 0 is when she hates you and 100 is love. I’m always trying to please her but it is not easy. The conversation choices you make will affect your relationships. This gauge will affect your romance sub-plots but will not do anything when it comes to your fighting skills. Your relationships get more and more complex as you meet other recruits, the king and different people.
The map will help you move around easily from your dorm room to the training center and beyond. There are unknown sites you must get access through either dialogue or by solving a quest. Quests can be as small as finding information about your heritage to investigating the rumors about trouble on the planet.
Competition comes in when you find out there are only 8 openings for the Royal Guard and 320 recruits. Plus your immediate sergeant does not like you, but the commanding officer is very friendly. You must prove yourself in tests and actual battles. There are 6 romantic endings to this game; 3 for the female character and 3 for the male person.
There are so many options from choosing your gender, class, dialogues and your destiny, the battles against enemies and the fights with other people that will determine how the game will be played. It’s all up to you. If you don’t like an outcome, play it again differently by choosing the other gender and another class. Each story will offer up surprises depending upon your choices.
The battles are a challenge but are also fun and exciting at the same time. Keeping your relationships happy is also hard. The story line gets more and more
intense as you go on to higher chapters in this suspenseful drama. The anime artwork is exquisite as always with great alien drawings. The instructions are clear and stats detailed. My only complaint is with the females standing with their hands on their hips in front of a commanding officer. Rebecca Fox the mean sergeant is strong and dynamic. Planet Stronghold is a great game with balanced story line and battling. Try their extensive demo and see for yourself.
Features of Planet Stronghold:
-40 Different Enemies with Bosses
-Quests and side quests
-Over 50 hours of Gameplay
-Different Stories Based on Your Choices
-6 Romantic Endings
