I Spy Fun House Review
There are a lot of hidden object games with very involved stories, but I Spy Fun House is a straight I Spy Mac game where you are looking for items at different locations at a carnival. To enter the Fun House you need 11 tickets. Solve hidden object games and riddles in order to get these tickets.
As you enter the carnival area, you will notice that some of the objects will move. You can enter these areas to begin your search for hidden
items. You will see a poem at the bottom of the screen and a little girl’s voice will recite the lines. The scenes are your classic pictures of many objects spewed all over the big tent, trailer and other familiar spots. Some pictures are shadows and others are clear photos or artwork of each item. Everything is colorful and fun to search. In addition to the main scene, there are scrolling scenes where you can get more of the picture by clicking either right or left. After finding all the items in the poem, there is a
riddle for you to find the ticket. There are bonus games to have fun with and enjoy also.
One complaint I have is that the hint button is not a hint button at all. When you click on it, it just gives you the instructions. The megaphone only repeats the entire poem that gives you the list of objects. If you are stuck, the only thing you can do is to go to another scene and come back to the first picture later. Another thing I had a problem with is that there were only 11 scenes so you keep going back to the same picture with a different poem and list of objects to search.
This I Spy game is like the I Spy books that are so popular with young kids. I’m assuming this Mac game is aimed towards those youngsters, but I can see casual gamers playing this along side their kids. I saw a father and his daughter, about 8 years old, playing this game at the Apple store today. She was enjoying the game with the help of her father.
Most of the colorful objects are easily visible, but there are a few items I couldn’t find, and that was frustrating since there really is no hint button. If that doesn’t bother you, you will have a great time strolling through the carnival searching for hidden objects. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars.
