Bam! What would it be like to be chef Emeril Lagasse and prepare delectable dishes for your friends and family? Here’s your chance to show off your skill and your culinary know how to the world or at least to your brother. Mac game Cooking Academy with 50 recipes, 38 mini games and 8 trophies will showcase your dexterity in the kitchen.
Carmen Paccio, the headmistress of this distinguish culinary arts school will instruct your every step for successful cooking accomplishments. This game starts with appetizers. That makes sense since you begin with those foods at dinner. Since this is an academic facility, before making any food, background, historic information are given. Hope it’s not on the test. For example, when making gyoza, it states that this appetizer is 1000 years old and was made in China.
The play, although simple, must be mastered precisely to cut, chop and fry your gyozas. There are helpful arrows to show you where to start and end up. If you should take a wider loop than the indicated arrow, you must start again losing precious time for preparing. Oh, didn’t I mention you are timed for everything and graded as well? Click on the knife and then click often on the garlic to dice. In order to slice you must click and drag following the arrow starting from the round part and ending at the point. There are all sorts of procedures to learn and master such as kneading, folding and frying. Watch out when you fry the gyozas. If the color is not just right it could be undercooked or burnt. Of course, your grade will go down. I found mashing avocados for guacamole to be difficult. I need to work on it more.
There are so many recipes to learn that I found this cooking game interesting and fun. It is similar to Cooking Mama in WII but Cooking Academy did not have the lively chatter and encouragement of Mama. Even though I like Cooking Mama better, Cooking Academy is a close second. See what you think and challenge Iron Chef Bobby Flay to a showdown.
